Retail Action Open House

Come join for a new monthly social and open house, hosted by the Retail Action Network.

This is a great night for you if you are a working & living here in Victoria and looking to meet some more folks in your community. This is the right spot for you if you are interested in learning more about your rights at work, or want to support those who are standing up to their boss. These are your people if you are keen to get involved in organizing to build worker power in the retail, restaurant, and hospitality industry. Or, maybe you’re really not sure, and just want to check it out… that’s cool too.

What to expect:
– Snacks and refreshments (potluck style)
– Some familiar faces, and some new friends.
– Brief introductions and presentations
– Break out discussion groups, craft tables, and more
– Drink specials, socializing, and music

Should you want a bit more of the workplace justice than that, we have folks on site to help answer any questions you may have about worker’s rights as well as how to organize in the workplace. Additionally, we are offering orientations to those interested in Retail Action Network, an hour before the event starts.

Timeline:
4:30pm-5:30pm (drop-in orientation for those interested)
5:30pm-6:30pm (dinner and introductions)
6:30pm-8:00pm (discussion groups, games, crafts)

Bus tickets available at the door.
We graciously accept food items to share, or donations at the door. But honestly, no pressure at all.
