SUMMARY:Workplace Sexual Harassment: Know Your Rights!
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE \nSexual harassment continues to plague workplaces\, with around half of Canadian women reporting they’ve experienced it. What does sexual harassment really look like on the job\, and what can you do if you encounter it? Learn to recognize what constitutes workplace sexual harassment and understand both your rights as a worker and your employer’s legal obligations. This workshop will also provide guidance on how you can access free legal advice. This workshop is aimed at empowering you by helping you understand your rights\, access support services\, and create safer workplaces for everyone. \nPresented by SHARP Workplaces. \nPresenters:\nTina Daschuk is a staff lawyer at SHARP Workplaces Legal Advice Clinic. Tina completed a BA at UBC and her JD at University of Manitoba. She was admitted to the BC bar in 2024 after articling with Everyone Legal Clinic. She volunteers with Amici Curiae Friends of the Court and as a writer for a handbook for use in Canadian schools with the Lawyers Against Transphobia. Tina worked on women’s land rights in South Africa through the CBA’s Young Lawyers International Program\, and as a law student worked in clinics for APB\, LSLAP and at UoM. Tina is a member of the CBA Women’s Lawyers’ Forum Education Committee. \nIru Oyakhirome is the Public legal Education and Information (PLEI) Coordinator at the SHARP Workplaces Legal Advice Clinic.
